Generator Guides & Advice

These guides explain service timing, checklists, ratings and how to read a data plate. They are not manufacturer manuals, and they are not a substitute for the service pages when the set has already failed. Where an interval or a rating varies by brand, the guide says so.

  • Explanations, not sales scripts
  • Manuals still set the numbers
  • Service pages are linked when you need a visit
  • Onsite across Gauteng

Start with the question

Which guide should I read?

If you want to know how often a set should be serviced, start there. The service intervals page is the longer explanation of hours and calendar time. The two checklists show what a general service and a diesel maintenance visit look at.

kVA and kW, single-phase and three-phase, standby and prime, and the data plate are identification guides. They help you send the right photo. The load testing guide explains a loaded run. The load bank testing page is where that test is booked.

The technician and company pages are published by ProService Generator Repairs. They describe what to look for, then give this company’s own details. They are not independent rankings.

Common Questions

Questions about these guides

Are these manufacturer manuals?

No. They explain the ideas. Hour limits, capacities and procedures for a specific engine stay in that manufacturer’s schedule.

Which page answers how often to service?

How often should a generator be serviced. The intervals page explains the system behind that answer.

Do the checklists apply to every generator?

No. They are grouped so missing items can be skipped. Diesel and petrol scopes are not identical.

Where do I book a repair?

The service pages linked from each guide, or the contact page. The guides themselves are explanations.

Is the load testing guide the same as booking a load bank?

No. The guide explains the test. Load bank testing is the service.

Are the recommendation pages independent?

No. They are on this website and say so. They do not rank other companies.

What should I send if I am unsure which guide fits?

A data-plate photo and a sentence about what the generator is doing.

Still unsure what the fault is? Call or WhatsApp 082 057 4605 for onsite diagnosis.
