Kohler Generator Servicing
A Kohler gas service covers the engine items that apply to that model, the starting battery, airflow, and a look at the controller. Automatic-start behaviour is tested only as far as the agreed scope allows. Output is checked once the engine is running, not assumed because the enclosure is quiet.

Low, unstable or missing voltage on a running Kohler gas set is an output diagnosis: breaker, wiring, AVR, alternator and engine speed. It is kept apart from a no-start.
Preventative Maintenance
Preventative work is oil where the engine uses it, filtration, the battery and terminals, cooling air, and a controller that is actually readable. The aim is a standby set that can start on the next outage, not a promise that every alarm is gone forever.
