Mac Afric
Mac Afric petrol generators are repaired independently for homes and workshops. ProService Generator Repairs is not affiliated with the retailer or the brand owner.

Mac Afric petrol generators are sold widely and then maintained by independent workshops. ProService Generator Repairs is one of those workshops. There is no link to the retailer and no authorised-service claim.
House sets and workshop portables fail in similar petrol ways: fuel left standing, a carburettor that gums, a recoil that tires, or an electric starter with a flat battery. Workshop sets also see longer running and dirtier air filters.
Voltage complaints are handled after the engine is willing to hold speed. A surging workshop set will not show a stable output until the fuel side is settled.
Mac Afric repairs separate a no-start from a no-power complaint. Fuel, spark and oil shutdown cover the first. Breakers, wiring and the AVR cover the second.
Workshop machines often arrive with blocked filters and a rich, hunting idle. That is serviced as an engine condition, not immediately as an alternator fault.
Servicing includes oil, the air filter, the plug and a look at the fuel tap and lines. Workshop sets on dusty sites need the air path checked more carefully than a garage-stored house set.
A planned service is also when a dragging recoil or a weak electric start is reported, before it fails during work.
Mac Afric petrol faults seen on house and workshop visits.
Tap, line, filter or a bowl that is no longer filling.
Old petrol, blocked jets and a set that only runs choked.
Rope, pawl or rewind on pull-start frames.
Engine runs, tools see little or no voltage.
Mixture or governor once a tool is switched on.
A Mac Afric that will not start is checked for petrol at the carburettor, spark at the plug, and whether a low-oil switch is open. Electric-start sets are split off if the engine is not even turning.
Carburettor deposits are common when a Mac Afric is filled and then left. Jets, the float and the choke are inspected. Fuel lines that have softened or a tap that does not open fully are repaired as part of the same fuel path.
Replacement is used when cleaning will not hold. That is explained on the job.
Recoil Mac Afric sets are checked for engagement. Electric-start sets are checked at the battery and starter before anyone pulls the rope as a workaround and hides the real fault.
Output faults on a Mac Afric petrol set include dead sockets, low voltage and voltage that collapses when a workshop load comes on. The AVR is one suspect. Engine speed and the breaker are the others.
Moved between a bakkie, a site and a garage.
Left in place for household outages.
Run longer, with filters and load checked accordingly.
Diagnosed as separate systems.
Mac Afric workshop sets need cleaner air filters and fresher oil than a set that runs twice a month. House sets need the opposite emphasis: fuel that has not varnished while it waited.
Repairs are independent of the shop that sold the set.
Use is taken into account. A dusty filter is not ignored.
Tap, lines and carburettor are one diagnosis.

02
Send the suburb, make, model, kVA, fuel type, the fault or alarm, and the controller model if you can see it. Photos of the set and the data plate can go on WhatsApp.

A time is agreed from the diary. A same-day slot is offered only when one is open, and it is confirmed on the call.
04
The technician inspects the generator on site and identifies the likely fault or the service that is due.
05
The findings and the proposed repair or service are explained before parts are changed.

Yes. Repairs and servicing are independent. ProService Generator Repairs is not the retailer or the brand owner.
Yes. Workshop sets are checked for filters, fuel and whether the output holds a tool load.
That often means the carburettor is not metering fuel once the choke is off. Jets, the float and fuel flow are inspected.
Yes. Rope, engagement and rewind are inspected when the pull start is the fault.
Yes. Low or missing output is checked at the breaker, the wiring and the AVR after the engine is stable.
No. Parts depend on the model and on what the diagnosis actually needs. Availability is confirmed before a replacement is promised.
